Since 1941, Camp Mikell has provided a loving and caring summer program for thousands of campers.

Many call Camp Mikell their second home, the place where Mikell Magic occurs, where lives are changed, where they are accepted for who they are, where they discovered God in new and exciting ways, where lifelong friends are made (many have discovered their future spouses here), a place that is unlike any other place on earth.

Mikell is an American Camp Association (ACA) accredited camp. We take pride in the level of care and safety that we give our campers each summer. Each week we have a registered nurse or nurse practitioner on site 24 hours a day. All of our summer staff are trained in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Level CPR, which includes adult, child, and infant CPR, and training in the use of our automated external defibrillator (AED).

Additionally, all summer staff is trained in First Aid, emergency procedures, sexual misconduct prevention training, appropriate discipline training, Dismantling Racism Training, and most are American Red Cross Lifeguard trained. Our summer staff is composed of college-age young people, who along with our weekly high school-age counselors, will be with the campers 24 hours a day.

Parents, we welcome feedback from you about our summer program. Please provide us with any feedback from you or your camper about their experience at Mikell. Such feedback can relate to our quality of food, cleanliness of the camp, registration, our program quality, or your campers overall experience of Mikell.

We strive every summer to provide your camper with the best possible experience, and you are an important part of this.

SUMMER CAMP SESSIONS

Camp Mikell offers traditional summer camp sessions as well and several specialized sessions including a Performing Arts camp featuring a major performance for family and friends at the end of the week.

Traditional Camps

Kid camp, Junior camp, Intermediate camp and Youth camp are specifically tailored for each individual age group. They follow the over 80-year-old Mikell tradition where fun, friendship, and God come together to create a joyous, one-of-a-kind experience called Camp Mikell. Mornings are dedicated to Christian education and inner reflection while afternoons are spent swimming, hiking, crafting or playing. Older campers get a chance to sign up for the ropes course, climbing tower, creek hike, and other adventures.

Guest Camp

Guest Camp is Camp Mikell’s weekend for all ages, held annually over Labor Day weekend. This is a time for individuals and families alike to gather in the beauty of the north Georgia mountains for a relaxed weekend of activities, quiet time, fellowship and the famous Camp Mikell food! Highlights of the weekend include a lively auction to benefit Mikell’s ministry. This event is unique each year as the items are requested from the guest campers.

Mini Camp

Who has more fun – the kids or the parents? This camp is a chance for younger kids to sample summer camp. They live and play and worship just like the big kids, but for a shorter time and with Mom or Dad (or Grandma, or any other responsible adult) by their side.

Performing Arts Camp

During this week, campers bring their talents and interests to the stage to create an unforgettable performance and learn a little about themselves all at once. Afternoons and evenings are spent enjoying regular Mikell activities. Family and friends are invited to the show at the end of the week.

Work Camp

Here is your chance to give back to a place that has given so much to so many. Come work alongside your brothers and sisters for a week of sweat, fun, and ministry. Mornings are spent working on work projects with afternoons and evenings filled with regular Mikell favorites. This session ends after lunch.
